How to Keep up on Your Beauty in the Wintertime

It is always tough transitioning seasons. Once the season changes the colors, styles and looks change as well. The shift from the browns and greens from fall to the corals and blues of the summer can be a challenge. Not only has that but during season changes, the body reacted differently. The site http://www.makeupandbeautyblog.com/skin-care/11-winter-beauty-tips/ show some great tips on maintaining your beauty in the winter season. In addition I’ve added a few:

  1. Sunscreen – When there is snow outside although the cool weather may fool you it is important that in cold snowy areas always to wear sunscreen. As repetitious as this may sound, the sun reflects off of the snow and can burn you worse than on a nice sunny summer day.

  2. Drink Water -  It is so important to keep your body hydrated as keeping your body hydrated will also show in your skin. Next time you are dehydrated and your lips are dry drink a glass of water and you will notice a difference in your skins healthiness.

  3. Rest – No matter what the season it is always important to rest and make sure that you take care of your body’s needs. Hence the nickname beauty sleep. It is said that while you are sleeping your body and skin heals from the wear and tear of the day.

  4. Get some rays – As comforting as it may be to sit inside in the warm house make sure you check in with Mr. Sun and catch a few rays. Your body should get 2-14 minutes three times a week to get its healthy dosage of Vitamin D.

  5. Use Moisturizer – Using a thicker moisturizer can be helpful in soothing itchiness from dry skin. It can also limit flakiness of the skin. Your skin will love you if you keep it moist.

  6. Get your foundation color checked – Many times people get so used to having certain shades of cover up and foundation that they forget to get it readjusted in the winter. Unless you maintain your tan skin from the summer, it is important to realize that your skin usually loses color in the winter from less sun exposure. So avoid the two tone look and make sure your cover up matches.
