MAC Makeup in a Costco in San Diego

MAC Makeup at a Costco in San Diego

You better believe it! I went to Costco yesterday and saw that they sell MAC Makeup Eyeshadow for a discounted rate of $11.49 versus the traditional $14.50 you pay in Department Stores and MAC Cosmetic Stores. Not only was it surprising to see that they had MAC Makeup in the first place but they had a great variety of shadow colors!!! (more…)

Laura Mercier Cosmetics...

Laura Mercier Cosmetics was recently introduced to my make-up vocabulary and and really am liking it. The products are very high quality. So far, I am very impressed with the foundation. The foundation basically erases blemishes before your eyes, no joke. Also the tinted moisturizer is a great idea for business women or any busy lady. It is so nice to wake up wash your face and apply a moisturizer that also works as cover up. Then just apply your other makeup and go!

Mascara Primer...

Have you ever used Mascara Primer? If not, you should give it a try. I would recommend it for trying to draw more attention to your eyes and to create a more lengthened look to your eyelashes. Also since your eyelash hairs are so fine and sometimes hard to control, I have found that primer is a great tool to get your eyelashes under control and looking tame before you apply your mascara. My favorite eyelash primer is Blinc Lash Primer. The Blinc website can give you the down low on the product. Two thumbs up from me.

Blending and Applying Makeup...

Blending is such an important tool in the world of makeup. Imagine doing a painting of a sunset. You want the colors to gradually change into the next, rather than having distinct lines of red and orange and yellow. You want it to be a smooth transition-thus creating the magical beauty of a sunset. Same with makeup. when applying eyeshadow it is all about creating a smooth transition with colors, and blending the colors together so that you are doing like a sunset on your eyes. No matter what colors you use, by blending the colors together and creating a transition between the color changes you will create a smooth beautiful look.

Photo Shoot Make-up...

Creating looks that show up solid on camera for photo shoots is harder than it looks. The biggest challenge being that the camera flash shines through the color so much that it makes the created look almost completely washed out. A good solid look takes layers of makeup being applied – way beyond what you would use for everyday wear. It can almost look gaudy up close but the camera catches a completely different picture.

Makeup Artist Review – Paula Mayer...

Paula Mayer is an airbrush makeup artist, based out of San Diego. In looking at her portfolio I saw some great shoots and there was a broad variety in the types of photo shoots she was involved in. She also has experience with film and bridal. In looking at various looks she was able to create, her talent and knowledge of the beauty industry was apparent. Which is why she is featured Makeup Artist of the week!

Golden Brown Smokey Eyes...

Today I tried a golden brown smokey eye look, which I really liked. This look would be ideal for a nice dinner date or even a night out on the town. Definitely an attention grabber.

Anyways I used all MAC Makeup colors. After prepping my eye with a cream color base, I used an eyeliner brush to apply a lustre shimmery dark brown called Tempting.
