Today I tried a golden brown smokey eye look, which I really liked. This look would be ideal for a nice dinner date or even a night out on the town. Definitely an attention grabber.
Anyways I used all MAC Makeup colors. After prepping my eye with a cream color base, I used an eyeliner brush to apply a lustre shimmery dark brown called Tempting.
This was used by lining the eyelid on the top and bottom of the eye. Basically creating a ring around the eye of the Lustre – do not apply to the inner corner of the eyes.
Next I used a deep matte brown called Handwritten lining the top and bottom of the eye again – trying to get as close to the lash line as possible – this is applied on top of the Lustre to give it a darker look.
Then, using an eyeshadow brush you are going to fill in from the lash line to the crease with another shimmery frost color called Amber Lights – this is more of a light golden brown color. This creates a golden brown smoky eye effect. Lastly, another frost called Goldmine – which is a gold shimmer – was used just above the crease and blended down into the area of the crease where the Amber Lights was applied. Be aware when using shimmery shadow there will be glitter drops that you will have to clean up afterwards.
Finish the look up with a brown eyeliner on the inner part of the lower lid and brown mascara. This is a lighter not quite as dramatic version of the original smoky eyes look.
