Wedding Make up for Redheads

Wedding Make up for Redheads

When researching wedding make up for redheads it can be challenging to find exactly what you are looking for, especially because you want to look stunning for your wedding day. When choosing your wedding eyeshadow the neutral shades will keep you looking natural yet flattering. If you want more color and glam, after all it is your big day, you may want to check out some purples with mahogany tints or some green shades. As a redhead you do not want to overdo it, stick with light and simple with a bit more glam than your normal daily business casual makeup. (more…)

Why do you Wear Makeup?...

Why do you wear makeup. Check out this video that was done by famous makeup artist Michelle Phan Check out this video that was done by famous makeup artist Michelle Phan

Little did one guy know, that his comment about the video would be starting WW2 with Makeup lovers all over. The comment by JCM from Brooklyn starts with Dear Women… and proceeds to express how he feels about makeup on women. His statement was saying the he felt makeup was an “uniquely feminine manifestation of a clearly delusional daily process as a means of hiding your identity to potentially attract a mate, increase your social status or, least likely, to simply make you feel good about yourself.” (more…)

Three Ways Makeup can be Empowering...

images1Ok I know men say less is more when it comes to make-up, which can be true in some cases like when you see those girls walk by with their make-up caked on over an inch thick.  Realistically, most of the time ladies just want to accentuate their assets to help those “blind” hopeless guys notice what we are proud of.  There is definitely a power that makeup has that can change a good day to a better day and (more…)

Natural Looking Makeup...

naturalI recently went on a trip up the California coast and my eyes were opened to a whole new world. I was born and raised in a mountain town but was always very into fashion and beauty. In San Diego, where I live now, the fashion and beauty scene is high end. People are very on top of it and in tuned with the latest and greatest brands, tools, styles, etc. (more…)

Makeup for Men...

makeupmyworld_donson1I recently went to Sephora where I ended up buying a product by Laura Mercier called Tinted Moisturizer – It comes in both regular and Oil-Free. Not only do I reccommend thie product for women, but I feel it is something men should know about as well. I know for men it is intimidating to buy makeup (more…)

Choose the Right Moisturizer: Tight Test...

If you have really dry skin on your face and neck and want to find a good level of moisturizer for your skin type. Try the quick and easy Tight Test. The Tight Test will help you determine whether a moisturizer adds right amount of hydration for your skin. Basically, all you have to do is apply the moisturizer and if your skin feels tight after five minutes, then the moisturizer is not rich enough. This means you should try something a little bit more creamy next time.

Beach Look: How to do it right!...

Natural is better when you are out in the sun. This is mostly because you want to maintain a uniform natural looking color all over your body – rather than having awkward tan lines. Moisturizer with SPF is the best and if you still want blemish coverage you can apply a tinted moisturizer. Laura Mercier has a Tinted Moisturizer which is a a face lotion that is tinted to your skin color, providing the light coverage that is needed for a day in the sun. Also the product has SPF 20 which is just enough to let you get some coverage as well as the color you want to get from those sun rays. This is a good product but anything similar or light will do the trick as well. Or you can apply your moisturizer or sunscreen and then your blemish coverage whether its a foundation or concealer, remember, less is better.

For the eyes brown or black mascara is definitely appropriate. If you plan on going in the water waterproof is recommended. If you want more, try lining your upper lash line with a thin layer of brown eyeliner. This is subtle and will also get that extra bit of glam in your Beach Look.

Lastly, the Beach Look is complete when you apply tinted gloss in a light seashell beige or pink color.

Have Fun in the Sun!

Laura Mercier Cosmetics...

Laura Mercier Cosmetics was recently introduced to my make-up vocabulary and and really am liking it. The products are very high quality. So far, I am very impressed with the foundation. The foundation basically erases blemishes before your eyes, no joke. Also the tinted moisturizer is a great idea for business women or any busy lady. It is so nice to wake up wash your face and apply a moisturizer that also works as cover up. Then just apply your other makeup and go!

Mascara Primer...

Have you ever used Mascara Primer? If not, you should give it a try. I would recommend it for trying to draw more attention to your eyes and to create a more lengthened look to your eyelashes. Also since your eyelash hairs are so fine and sometimes hard to control, I have found that primer is a great tool to get your eyelashes under control and looking tame before you apply your mascara. My favorite eyelash primer is Blinc Lash Primer. The Blinc website can give you the down low on the product. Two thumbs up from me.

Blending and Applying Makeup...

Blending is such an important tool in the world of makeup. Imagine doing a painting of a sunset. You want the colors to gradually change into the next, rather than having distinct lines of red and orange and yellow. You want it to be a smooth transition-thus creating the magical beauty of a sunset. Same with makeup. when applying eyeshadow it is all about creating a smooth transition with colors, and blending the colors together so that you are doing like a sunset on your eyes. No matter what colors you use, by blending the colors together and creating a transition between the color changes you will create a smooth beautiful look.
